Forensic Psychologist

Kerry Daynes Associates is a private practice of Forensic Psychologists and Psychotherapists.

Psycho-Legal Assessment:

•Psychological consequences of personal injury/accident, medical negligence, bullying/harassment, physical and sexual assault etc.

•Pre-trial / Pre-sentence reports in Criminal Proceedings – intellectual abilities /capacity, false confessions / interrogative suggestibility, mentally disordered offenders, violence, sex offences, arson.

•Family Law /Child Protection Proceedings – non-accidental injury, neglect, domestic violence/ anger, male and female perpetrators of child sexual abuse, analysis of validity of sexual abuse allegations.

•Mental Health Review Tribunals.

•Lifer Reviews / Parole Board Hearings

Consultancy: Investigative psychology /advice to police. Prediction of future risk, management of high-risk individuals in institutions and the community, identification of treatment needs, staff supervision (including to the Prison Service), attendance at MAPP and other professionals meetings.

Training: Delivery of workshops and longer courses including Motivational Interviewing, Working with Sex Offenders, De-Escalation Skills, Management of Aggression & Violence, Maintaining Boundaries, Mental Illness & Offending, Working with Personality Disordered Clients, Risk Assessment & Management.

Treatment: The Trauma Clinic is a dedicated service providing psychological therapies to children and adults experiencing a wide range of problems associated with trauma, stress, anxiety and depression.

The Langley House Trust provides accommodation, support and supervision services to ex-offenders in the community. Many of their residents are Home Office funded and considered high-risk. Kerry Daynes Associates provides weekly clinics at their Northern projects, a rolling programme of training for staff, individual risk-management protocols and support to the Senior Management Team.
